SERIES | The Foundations of Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini Yoga is a dynamic practice that works with movement, breath, focused awareness and sound to influence our energy, mental state and sense of wellbeing.

In this 4-week experiential series, we’ll explore four foundational elements of the practice - not only learning how they are used, but gaining a deeper understanding of why they can have such a powerful effect on the body and mind.

Week 1 — RHYTHM Explore the Laya aspect of Kundalini Yoga and how rhythm and dynamic movement can be used to activate, circulate and shift energy throughout the body.

Week 2 — PRANAYAM Explore the Pranic Body and the powerful role of breath in Kundalini Yoga, experiencing how different applications of pranayama can shift energy, regulate the nervous system and influence the mind.

Week 3 — MANTRA Explore the science of Naad — the use of sacred sound and mantra as a meditative technology — and experience how rhythm, repetition and sound can help focus the mind and deepen meditation.

Week 4 — DRISHTI Discover the role of internal focus during practice and how directing our attention can influence concentration, awareness and our mental and emotional experience.

Each class combines accessible education with an intentional Kundalini Yoga and meditation practice, offering an opportunity to experience these teachings from the inside out. Whether you’re completely new to Kundalini Yoga or already familiar with the practice and curious to understand it more deeply, this series offers a practical and experiential introduction to some of the foundational technologies that make Kundalini Yoga unique.

No previous Kundalini Yoga or meditation experience is necessary. Included for Shala Monthly Unlimited and Annual Membership holders. Can purchase 4-class series for $65 or apply class packages.
