Hip Hip HOORAY! A workshop with Kent Bond

Unlocking the Hips: Strength, Freedom & Intelligent Movement with Kent Bond

Join longtime yoga educator Kent Bond for a dynamic and insightful workshop dedicated to one of the most fascinating, and often misunderstood, areas of the body: the hips.

Designed for both teachers and dedicated students, this immersive experience begins with a grounded foundation in asana fundamentals and gradually opens the door to the transformative potential of the hip joints.

Through a thoughtful blend of education and practice, Kent will guide you in exploring how greater awareness of the hip girdle can lead to more stability, mobility, strength, and ease throughout your entire yoga practice.

In this engaging workshop, you’ll deepen your anatomical understanding of the pelvis and surrounding structures while assessing your own movement patterns and discovering safe, effective ways to open the hips. Expect a lively mix of creative movement drills, therapeutic ball rolling techniques, and functional explorations that help reveal how the hips connect with, and influence, the feet, knees, and ankles.

You’ll also discover how many standing poses can become powerful hip openers when practiced with awareness and alignment. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with practical tools, fresh insights, and valuable “yoga tool belt” techniques you can immediately apply to your teaching or personal practice.

If you’ve ever felt that your hips are the “last frontier” of your practice, this workshop is an invitation to approach them with curiosity, intelligence, and play.
