Fall 2026 & Spring 2027100+ Hour
Yoga Teacher Training/
Immersion
To honor tradition & celebrate transformation.
We’re so excited to offer a new way to immerse more deeply into the traditional teachings of yoga.
Starting this fall, Rebecca Bell, owner of Yoga Shala Bend, and her husband Keith, owner of Body Fix & Function, will co-lead a yearly 100-hour module training broken into 6 weekends. In these trainings you will learn teaching skills, self-inquiry practices, and the subtle aspects of yoga and its philosophy. These are for teachers wanting to add continuing education credits as well as for students wanting to deepen their practice.
Why modular 100 hour immersions?
When Rebecca first embarked to India to study yoga 30 years ago, it was common for students to travel over oceans and mountains for years, even decades, to build lasting relationships with their teachers. Today, it is increasingly common to check off 200-hour training in 2 weeks, or finish courses online, without lasting student-teacher relationships.
We’d are offering something different: an ongoing sadhana, or community, for teachers to grow each year, woven into the foundational structure of our studio. Our training modules serve to foster relationships and to integrate the teachings at a slower pace and more fully.
We aim to gather teachers and students from all over the beautiful PNW and invite you to add time to explore all that Bend has to offer!
Our Intention
Rebecca’s intention in opening Yoga Shala Bend was to establish a school of yoga where she could pass down the lineage of Krishnamacharya and his greatest students, including Patthabi Jois, Mr. BKS Iyenger, and Tim Miller. Her guiding philosophy is to honor the sacred roots of yoga practice, while also celebrating the transformation of contemporary yoga as needed to adapt to our modern lives. An avid mountain biker, mom, and devoted yogini herself, Rebecca’s teacher training aims to foster human connection with a heart to heart transmission of the yoga practice and all the teachers who came before her.

Immersion 1
Honoring Lineage: 8 Limbs in Contemporary Vinyasa & Hatha
Explore the roots of modern vinyasa taught and practiced in the west. We’ll also identify and honor the cultural origins of the practices we benefit from in today’s world.
Focused topics include:
Sequencing
Learn to structure a vinyasa class according to the logic of traditional sequences
Learn how to open, build toward peak postures, and close classes with proper heat-building and cooling-down
Learn to sequence classes for the needs of your studio and community
Cueing
Discover your natural tendencies as a vocal guide of asana practice
Practice active voice, removing filler, and allowing your personality to shine
Integrating the 8 Limbs in asana practice
Cultivate the non-physical limbs of yoga that feel most authentic to you to integrate into your asana class (e.g. chanting, breathwork, meditation, subtle body, philosophy)
Immersion 2
Yoga Therapeutics: Anatomy, Alignment, and Props
Enhance and refine your method of teaching by learning how to teach to specific therapeutic goals such as injuries, restoration, or basic alignment. By attuning your own practice and teaching to the gentle, intentional support of props, you can better support the individual needs of your students.
Focused topics include:
Anatomy
Learn common injuries in yoga through the lens of anatomy and alignment
Gain deeper knowledge on anatomical structures and functional movement necessary for yoga practice
Props
Learn various uses of props for both therapeutic and dynamic vinyasa sequencing
Customize the use of props for both common limitations and hyper-mobility
Alignment
Explore the relationship between cueing, demonstrating postures, and physically assisting students
Learn best alignment cues for different body types
Immersion 3
The Art of Connection: Hands-on Assists/Seeing Subtle & Physical Bodies
Dive deep into the reciprocal and relational aspect of yoga. The human connection we give and receive in yoga is more needed than ever, and this immersion will focus on how to cultivate warm and welcoming environments for your students and your yoga community.
Focused topics include:
Hands-on Assists
Discuss how culture of hands-on assist has evolved over time and how to create a welcoming environment of support for students
Learn highly supportive, therapeutic, and appropriate assists
Seeing Physical Bodies
Learn how to identify and adjust teaching to common body types, limitations, hyper-mobilities, as well as student temperaments (fiery, watery, airy, grounded)
Discuss supportive ways to engage with students of different temperaments and body compositions
Seeing Subtle Bodies
Teach toward nervous system regulation, subtle body energetics, breathwork, and intuitive movement
Learn to regulate your own voice and environment of teaching space for desired effect
